University of Nairobi
The Vice-Chancellor is the academic and administrative head of the University and is responsible to&#13;
the Council for maintaining and promoting the academic image and maintaining and promoting the&#13;
efficiency and good order of the University.&#13;
He is by virtue of his office a member of every committee appointed by the Council or Senate, unless&#13;
otherwise expressly provided.&#13;
The Vice-Chancellor is also by virtue of being the overall administrative head of the University, the&#13;
accounting officer of the University, and responsible for policy matters, planning, co-ordination,&#13;
public relations, fund-raising and general development of the University.

Hyslop, James, Morton
J.M Hyslop was an educationalist in East Africa. His greatest work as an educationalist was converting the Nairobi Technical College into a University College known as the Royal College of Nairobi. The College was established in 1960 and he became the first Principal of the Royal College of Nairobi.
