dc.description.abstract | Within sustainable production, produce quality and safety are essential features. However, methods, requirements, conditions and even legislation for produce quality and safety in production in rural areas cannot always be directly transferred to production in urban areas and on rooftops. This chapter describes features of produce quality, produce safety and safety hazards in urban rooftop farming employing various technological solutions and serving various purposes in different climate zones. Sustainability is discussed in terms of product quality and safety, and requirements to resolve the principal issues are presented. | en_US |
