    Abstract
The effect of maturity on the mineral content of Bana and French varieties of Napier grass was assessed during the wet and dry seasons. The mineral content declined significantly with maturity except for Co. The effect of variety was significant for Ca, P, K, Fe and Mn. Season significantly influenced the levels of Mg, Cu, Mn and Zn. The mineral contents of the two varieties were similar and the levels were associated negatively with maturity. The levels of micro-minerals were below those desired for animal production.
