    Abstract
Of the eight essential oils from Lippia species screened against six bacteria and seven fungi, Uppia grandifolia and L. javanica oils exhibited strong antimicrobial activity especially on Colletorichum coffeanum. The results indicate that these oils might be exploited as natural fungicide if found more active than the prevalent synthetic fungicides in field trials.
