Abstract
The essential oil isolated from the leaves of artemisia afra willd (1.5%) by hydrodistilation was analyzed by GC and GC/MS.Fifty compounds constituting about 93% of the oil were identified.The major constituents were 1,8 cineole(67.4%) terpinen-4-ol(6.5%)and borneol(5.1%)
