Assessing acceptability of parents/guardians of adolescents towards introduction of sex and reproductive health education in schools at Kinondoni Municipal in Dar es Salaam city.

Abstract

The article is about whether youth education on condom use is seen by parents/guardians as promoting promiscuity" This confiicts with the parents'/guardians' desire to protect them from HIV infection. This study confirms my own experience. Parents really want their children to learn about sex and safer sex practices, but they are undecided, firstly, about the content, particularly the inclusion of education on condom use and, secondly, they are undecided about who should teach the subject and in which environment. In conclusion, this needs a conclusive way Forward for healthier youth. It is the right of adolescents in and out ot school to be able to protect themselves from HIV infection. Their sex education should include abstinence and condom use. The given sex education will enable them to make the right choices.
