    Abstract
The successful management of change is crucial to any organization in order to survive and succeed in the ever competitive and continuously evolving business environment. It is important for any organization to be able to identify where it needs to be in the future, and how to manage the changes required getting there. Consequently, organizational change cannot be separated from organization strategy, and vice versa. Due to the importance of organizational change, it is necessary for management to acquire managerial skill. The objectives of the study were to establish the change management approach used by Kenya Power and Lighting Company. The study also sought to determine the extent to which the people dimension of change was considered in the change management process of the company. The research methodology used in the study was a case study of Kenya Power and Lighting Company and data collected was done via conducting personal interview from top management and some union officials. The research finally concludes that the company recognizes the importance of people dimension to change. The company understands that for change to be effective and permanent it has to involve the people conducting the change. This was evident through the use of the ADKAR model in the change management process by the organization.
