    Abstract
The main objective of the study was to establish factors that promote employee engagement in Afya Sacco. To establish this, a survey was conducted at Afya SACCO Society Limited situated at Nairobi. The study was done through the use of structured questionnaires. The research design used was survey and the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study found out that the employees of Afya SACCO viewed the state of each of the nine factors affecting employee engagement as being above average. The lowest ranked were both Leadership and Reward. Second lowest ranked were development opportunities and quality of communication. The highest ranked were Work, Line of sight, immediate supervisor and team work. The impact of demographic characteristics on the rating of different factors led to the following findings: gender, department, position and age were found not to affect the ratings of employee engagement. Only salary scale was found to have significant effect on some of the factors which include: work, line of sight and development opportunities The conclusions were that Afya SACCO employees find all the engagement factors favorable in promoting engagement levels. Employees at Afya SACCO deem motivation, pay raise, Promotions and Training & seminars as key factors affecting employee engagement. The recommendations were that Afya SACCO should evaluate motivation, pay, Promotions and Training & seminars as possible ways of improving employee engagement. Further research is necessary to determine the effect of employee engagement on employee enthusiasm at work.
