    Abstract
The role of emerging technologies librarian has become important in the processes of integrating the library digital systems. Emerging technologies used in the library help the students in their studies while equipping the staff with the best skills and competencies in library science. It also showed that issues such as lack of awareness on technologies uses within the library, lack of training on the students and staff and lack of funding to support workshops, training and conferences are the major obstacle facing emerging technologies librarian. The recommended strategies for increasing competencies were similar to those meant to improve roles ofETs L. UoN library also need to provide periodic articles in form of journals to educate students on the role of emerging technologies librarian. The study also
