dc.description.abstract | The advances in technology world over are taking place at a very alarming rate. All sectors of production are impressing technology in their service delivery and since education plays a major role in all aspects of development, it cannot be left behind. In many cases education is given in schools whether formally or informally therefore they should be prepared for this challenge. The study therefore aimed at examining the preparedness of secondary schools in the integration of information communication and technology (ict) to enhance teaching-learning process. Three objectives guided the study; to examine the secondary schools' ability in the integration of ict in teaching and learning process, determine the level of teachers' and students' expertise in integration of ict in teaching and learning process and the extent to which ict is being integrated in teaching and learning process by teachers and students in nyeri south district kenya. A survey study was done in all the 34 schools in the district. It was found that schools have the capacity to initiate the integration of ict in the teaching-learning process the challenge however is on the capacity of the teachers and principals. It is recommended that schools should be active in capacity building to equip the teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge on how to impress ict in the teaching-learning process to move away from the traditional modes of delivery that seem out of times with the learners. | en_US |
