Human Resources Development for the Water Sector in the Next Decade

Abstract

Globalisation is not a single phenomena, and it has become a catch-all concept to describe a range of trends and forces that impact our environment in many ways. Economic globalisation, under the aegis of the so called neo-liberal economics, is a manifested shift from a world of distinct national economies to a global economy in which production is internationalised and financial capital flows freely and instantaneously between countries. Under the perspective of a global economy, water resources are impacted both directly and indirectly.
