Abstract

This report presents sonic extensions of the methodology of document retrieval system evaluation. Part 1 provides an overview of some of the milepost studies in evaluation. Part II presents in some detail a discussion of measurement from a nonconventional viewpoint. Part III is a collection of technical papers on various aspects of statistical evaluation.
