    Abstract
Kenya is one of the six countries which make up the Eastern African region. The other states are Ethiopia, Somalia, the Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. Because of their common border with Tanzania and Uganda, Burundi, Ruanda and Zaire may partially be regarded as part of the Eastern African but the latter do not concern us here.
