    Abstract
    Technology has revolutionized communication to such an extent that to remain relevant one has to keep abreast with the changes since they affect every sector of society. International relations is concerned with how states relate. Technology is crucial in effective management of the affairs of state. The focus of this study was; the effects that advancement in technology has on International Relations. The study was carried out at a time when the world has turned into a global village. Communication has tremendously improved and one has to strive to keep abreast. World affairs are conducted through technology. There is e-governance, e-commerce, e-learning, e-mail, e-this and e-that! The study looks at this advancement in technology and establishes the place it has in International Relations. Specific attention is given to the East African states. Firstly, the study looks at the various forms of technology that have existed and how they have influenced the conduct of International Relations. Further,the study follows the developments on these technologies over time. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. The data was analyzed and substantive conclusions drawn from the findings. The study found out that despite the few challenges that technological advancement has brought about,the gains of embracing technology have no match.As in the case in the undertaking of any serious study,the findings of the study can be used to inform policy formulation in the of International Relations.
