    Abstract
This study investigated the impact of corruption on poverty in Kenya and Uganda. It also sought to answer questions like the possible causes of corruption and poverty and also what could be done to alleviate the two problems in the two countries. The main objective of this study was to determine how corruption had contributed towards poverty in Kenya and Uganda. Many researchers have written about this topic but there are gaps that this study sought to fill. The researcher employed the Progressive Social Theory which was more relevant to this study. The theory attributes poverty to bad governance which on the other hand contributes to corruption, hence the relevance of the theory. After analyzing the data collected, it is evident that corruption had an impact on poverty in the two countries under study. This was done through interview guides and questionnaires. Ultimately, after the data analysis this study gave both policy and academic recommendations. The study identified the research gaps hence creating new knowledge in this field. This study also contributed new knowledge that can be used to address corruption and poverty in Kenya and Uganda. It recommended a further study to be carried out on the same study with a view to filling the gaps that the researcher could have omitted.
