Strategic Capabilities for Competitive Advantage of Wasili Cab Services
Abstract
Strategic capabilities are essential for the competitive advantage of any organization.
The aim of this study was to establish the influence of strategic capabilities on
competitive advantage of Wasili cab services. The study was anchored on dynamic
capabilities theory and disruptive Innovations Theory. The research design was a case
study which used primary data. The research instrument used to collect the data was
an interview guide. The data obtained from the interviewees was analyzed qualitatively
by the use of content analysis. The study found out that Wasili cab services possesses
several strategic capabilities for the purpose of building on its competitive advantage.
The study found out that Wasili cabs company has built on its competitive advantage
through excellent customer service as a capability strategy. Through excellent customer
service the cab company offers quality of service and convenience to its clientele. The
study also found out that Wasili cab services had built on its competitive advantage
through competitive strategies such as differentiation and affordability. The study also
found that Wasili cab services had built on its competitive advantage through market
research. The study also found out that Wasili cabs services had built on its competitive
advantage through acquisition of information communication technology. Lastly, the
study also found out that the cab company built on its competitive advantage through
using training as a strategic capability. The study concluded that Wasili cab services
has benefitted from the possession of strategic capabilities for competitive purposes.
The strategic capabilities have contributed to the success of Wasili cab services. The
study concluded that technological innovations played an essential role to the success
of Wasili cab services. Technological innovations have enabled the company to reach
the customers through different marketing platforms and also enabled employees to do
their jobs efficiently and effectively. The study also concluded that excellent customer
service has enabled Wasili cabs service to offer quality service and convenience to its
clientele. The study also concluded that Wasili cabs service has built on its competitive
advantage through differentiation and affordability. The study also concluded that
Wasili cabs services company had built on its competitive advantage through carrying
out market research. Lastly, the study concluded that Wasili cabs service company has
built on its competitive advantage through training. The study recommends that Wasili
cab company to continue developing new strategies for the better improvement of
clients’ services. The study also recommends that Wasili cabs business to incorporate
data protection in its business. Lastly, the study recommends that other cab business
should adopt strategic capabilities for them to perform well.
