The research was carried out to look into the effect of SCMPs on performance of the
county Government of Elgeyo Marakwet, Kenya. The study had three goals; to establish
the extent to which SCM practices have been implemented, to examine the effect of
SCMPs on performance and probing the challenges faced in implementing SCMPs in the
county Government of Elgeyo Marakwet. The research design utilized was a cross -
sectional one covering 60 participants, picked from the county department of Finance and
directors from across user departments of the organization. Drop and pick later
questionnaire technique was adopted in gathering of Data. Measures of central tendency
dispersion were utilized to evaluate the first objective, regression analysis was used to
evaluate objective two, while frequencies and percentages were used to analyze objective
three. The outcomes were presented using tables. It was evident that there was a
substantial positive correlation between SCMPs and organizational performance
explicated by the four independent variables; outsourcing practices, customer/citizen
relationship practices, ICT use and supplier partnership practices. Since the study only
focused on the county Government of Elgeyo Marakwet, the researcher recommends
further research be conducted to incorporate other devolved units in Kenya. The
researcher also recommends prospective studies to broaden the scope by incorporating
other practices not covered by this study
