dc.description.abstract | The study objective was to determine the association between the organizational performance of car hire firms and their use of VTMS. The study's primary goals were to determine the extent of VTMS adoption, the factors that contribute to this adoption, and the difficulties associated with VTMS implementation in Kenya. For this study, an explanatory research design approach and a descriptive research design were used. In this sense, the study's population consisted of 100 car-hiring firms located in Nairobi County. Primary data were collected using questionnaires. One hundred researchers received a research questionnaire that was sent to different car hire firms within Nairobi town and the feedback rate was 84%. This involved representatives from a group of car-hiring firm respondents such as those in customer support, managers, marketers and IT specialists. When the required data was gotten, the questionnaire was proofread to ensure it was accurate, clear, and complete. Frequency and per cent were used to present bio data. Adoption of VTMS was measured using the means and standard deviations. The data on adoption drivers and adoption process obstacles were analyzed using the mean and standard deviation. To assess the relationship between VTMS and the performance of car hire firms, a regression equation was constructed. However, the study also showed that even while VTMS has certain benefits, its use in this field is still uncommon. Three drivers were found to have high security concerns, highlighting the need for better fleet management. Other difficulties were the device's expensive initial cost, data protection, and employee training. The results revealed that there was a positive correlation between VTMS implementation and business output. Firms that had integrated VTMS reported improved fleet management, increased security, and enhanced customer service, leading to better overall performance. This research highlights the untapped potential for growth in the car hiring service industry in Kenya through the wider adoption of VTMS. The study concludes that policy makers should collaborate with industry stakeholders to address adoption challenges and promote VTMS integration, which would benefit both the industry and its customers through improved service quality and security. It is important for car hiring firms in Kenya to recognize the advantages of VTMS and take proactive steps to implement this technology to remain competitive and enhance their overall performance | en_US |
