dc.description.abstract | This thesis is a study to ascertain how various different approaches to project design impact the performance of road construction projects undertaken by local contractors working under Kenya Urban Roads Authority, KURA, in Nairobi County. It investigates how traditional, Agile, and hybrid methodologies affect the outcome of such projects regarding cost, time, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. The research identifies the gaps, challenges, and best practices associated with each design approach through a combined approach of quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders. Results indicate marked variations in the performance of projects based on the different design methodology adopted and actionable recommendations toward enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of road construction projects within urban settings. It therefore contributes to an infrastructure project management knowledge base and adds to useful lessons that might be drawn upon by policy makers, project managers, and other construction industry stakeholder | en_US |
