Effects of Monitoring and Evaluation Practices on Performance of Logistics Projects in Mombasa County: a Case of Kenfreight East Africa Limited
Abstract
The main objective of this research study was to investigate into the influence of monitoring & evaluation practices on performance of logistic projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited. The objectives of this study were; to determine the influence of M&E planning on the performance of logistics projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited, to establish the influence of M&E resource allocation on the performance of logistics projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited, to examine the influence of stakeholder participation on the performance of logistics projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited and to assess the influence of M&E technical expertise on the performance of logistics projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited. In this study, the target population comprised of customers and employees engaged in the implementation of logistic projects from various departments of interest at the Kenfreight East Africa Limited. In particular, a target population of 5 project managers, 12 Project officers, 6 project engineers, 15 Steering Committee 48 M&E personnel and 10 customers. The researcher used customers and employees of Kenfreight East Africa Limited who were engaged in logistic projects related to different departments of interest in order to carry out the census sample design. This inquiry took primary data sources into account. One approach in gathering primary data was to arrange questionnaires with both open-ended and suggestive questions. The primary data for this study was collected using well-structured questionnaires with open-ended and closed-ended questions, as well as open-ended questions for the respondents' independent thoughts. The collected data underwent a thorough examination and comprehensibility assessment prior to being processed through statistical software for social science analysis. The researcher established that monitoring and evaluation practices had a positive influence the performance of logistic projects implemented by Kenfreight East Africa Limited
