    Abstract
Are exporters in developing countries using e-commerce to facilitate access to foreign markets? This study of firms in the garments sector in Kenya suggests that while use of email is extensive and while firms have access to the web, they are not using more sophisticated e-commerce applications to do business. Personal contacts and traditional forms of business remain important.
