The Influence of the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF) on Refugee Management: A Case of Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya
Abstract
This study examines the efficacy of the CRRF in fostering local integration of refugees within the Kenyan context. The study evaluates the impact of CRRF in Kakuma Refugee Camp by specifically examining role of CRRF in pushing for refugee law reforms in Kenya and how it has influenced key refugee issues of education (both access and quality), gainful employment and a friendly entrepreneurial ecosystem. The study further evaluates the relationship between these factors affecting refugee lives in Kakuma Refugee Camp and their impact on refugee integration prospects in Kenya. Through a qualitative research design, the study analysed qualitative data from refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp and also collected expert opinions to understand the diverse issues that could facilitate or hinder refugee integration progress in Kenya.
