A new species and four new records of Asterina from Kenya

Abstract

Five species of Asterina identified on 5 unrelated host genera from Mau Forest in Western Kenya are described. A. achyrospermi on Achyrospermum schimperi is described as a new species, A. dissiliens is new to the host species Maytenus senegalensis and A. grewiae on Flacourtia indica, A. orbicularis on Ilex mitis and A. radio-fissilis on Erythrococca trichogyne are new to Kenya.
