    Abstract
Investment in education is an important aspect in the society today. This is so because economic surveyors have realized the benefits accrued from investing in education. This study tried to establish the effects of educational resources on student's performance in public secondary schools in Mbeere District, Eastern province. Education in Sub-Saharan Africa is quickly becoming the greatest investment for most nations. Governments are investing highly in the education of its citizens in terms of financing the educational resources (books, school buildings, electrification, water, roads, science equipment, staffing etc) to enable these schools run smoothly. The literature on this study was reviewed by examining the past studies in national examinations. The research instruments used were two sets of questionnaires for the respondents and an observational checklist which enabled the researcher to gather the necessary data from the respondents. Based on the research findings, the study concluded that there was a connection between the school facilities and the performance of the schools. The respondents indicated, for , instance that there was a connection between the teacher's experience and student's performance. The study also concluded that availability and adequacy of instructional materials such as text books were necessary to improve the performance of students.
