Lexical expansion in kiswahili:A study of strategies in corpus development

Abstract

The present; study investigates Lexical expansion in kiswahili. Chapter 1 is a general introduction to the study. Chapters 2 through 4 form the core of study . Chapter 2 is a review of the established strategies of lexical expansion which are being used in the expansion of the kiswahili vocabulary.A description of these strategies and their productivity in lexical expansion is carried out here. Chapters 3 and 4 are an analysis of linguistic processes which are attested in the course of lexical expansion in Kiswahili .The phonological, morphological and semantic processes and their roles in the lexical expansion in Kiswahili are discussed here. Chapter 5 contains the summary and conclusions of the study and a few suggestions are raised
