dc.description.abstractThe present study attempts to establish which varieties of Dholuo constitute regional dialects. socio-Linguistic orientation in the identification and analysis of the dialect features. Unlike traditional dialect studies, which, prefer non mobile older rural males This study is based all a sample which includes male,female young; old, mobile and non-mobile .informants it thus employs multi-stage, random, stratified and judgement sampling techniques techniques in the selection of informants of data collection. The description of the geographical linguistic differences also includes a discussion of now social factors such as exposure to foreign dialects context and willingness to accommodate to a different dialect related to the regional features.en
