    Abstract
This study sought to establish the challenges Human Resources Managers encounter in the process of implementing the HIV/AIDS policy at work place and also the challenges the staff encounter in the same implementation of the HIV/AIDS policy. The study was interested in finding out how much information is available to both the managers and the staff as concerned the HIV/AIDS policy in their respective work place. It was also interested in finding out how best equipped the policy is and how effective it is in combating the issues of HIV/AIDS at work place for both the affected and infected staff. The study sought to finding out if the organizations have followed the Government's directive of formulating the HIV/AIDS policy and how well are the organizational issues articulated in the policies. From the available literature it is clear that AIDS is one of the worlds leading killer disease and a concern of all nations both developing and developed. Over 42m People in the world were living with AIDS by end of the 2005. (UNDP Report August 2006) It is not only in Kenya where HIV/AIDS have affected the work place but all over the world. HIV/AIDS is the single biggest threat to the development of education and other sectors of life in Africa if not the world over. (Daily Nation 13/10/2007) AIDS is not only a medical problem but also a socio-economic problem that affects the very livelihood of mankind. That is why the study chose to establish what happens at the work place where the economic gain is high and the infection rate too i.e. the age bracket of 15 - 49, which is seriously affected.
