The main objective of this study is to determine the types of communication strategies that have proven effective in creating awareness about BC and in reducing BC mortality. In order to achieve this, the study will look at the communication strategies employed in creating awareness about BC amongst women in Nairobi West Location, both by the Ministry of Health and the KBHP. The study aims to target 30 women, ranging from teachers to hair dressers to cleaners and even shop attendants. 1 doctor and 1 gynecologist will also be targeted. In addition, 1 KBHP staff will be interviewed. Use of questionnaires as a means of collecting data will be employed. Since the study will employ qualitative methods of data collection, both the qualitative and quantitative methods of data analysis will be used. Communication programmes carried out in other areas which target women will also be looked at. The study will then analyse the communication campaigns which have proven effective in creating awareness about BC and the reasons for their effectiveness. Finally, recommendations will be made on the best way to carry out future campaigns.en
