    Abstract
    The methyltransferases are a group of enzymes that catalyse the transfer of methyl groups from a donor substrate to a recipient substrate. The donor substrate is usually s-adenosyl-I-methionine (SAM), while the recipient substrates include carbohydrates. proteins and nucleic acids. The enzymes are named by the type of molecule serving as the methyl group acceptor, namely carbohydrate methvltransferase, protein methyltransferases and nucleic acid methyltransferases............
