    Abstract
The objective of this study was to establish the relationship of terms and conditions of service and the motivation of domestic workers. The study was conducted in Karen location of Nairobi Province. The target population was all domestic servants in Nairobi Province. The study adopted a survey design because the data was cross-sectional and it involved comparison. Primary data for the study were collected using structured questionnaires that were administered by the researcher personally since some of the domestic workers would not have been able to fill them on their own. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and summarized by use of tables, percentages and frequencies. The study established that domestic workers were happy with the quality of accommodation, payment interval and leave entitlement. They also cited factors such as financial assistance by the employer, sleeping in their own rooms, and being given time off-work as sources of satisfaction. However, they stated that they were not satisfied with, low monthly pay, long hours of work, rudeness from employers family, lack of clear instructions, lack of appreciation of what they do by the employer and doing a lot of work. In light of the above findings, employers of domestic workers need to effectively motivate them through improvement on terms such as monthly pay, giving financial benefits and reducing the amount of work among others.
