    Abstract
    This research study was a case study that was carried out on Telkom Kenya Limited, which is currently an integrated telecommunications services operator in Kenyan market. This research study sought to identify the challenges faced by telecommunication operators in Kenya that are brought about by globalization. It is a case study of Telkom Kenya limited. The objective of the study was to establish the challenges faced by Telkom Kenya that are brought about by globalization and determine their impact and response. Since liberalization and regulation of the Telecommunication sector in Kenya the market has witnessed the emergence of competition which has been accelerated by rapid technological change and adoption to provide world class communication solutions. The Research project was conducted by collection of primary data using unstructured questionnaires which were administered to the mangers in the key departments of Telkom Kenya Limited. The report contains in-depth analysis and interpretation of the data which identifies the challenges faced by the company, their impact and the response to the challenges. The research study found out that the major challenges facing the company are competition, rapid technological change and quality of service, copper vandalism, declining revenues among others. The company has however responded to the challenges through innovative products, embracing of the latest third generation and next generation technologies and entering into strategic joint venture partnership with French Telecom which is one of the leading global telecommunications operators so as to remain competitive, increase its market share and introduce innovative products in the market. The study also discusses the research findings, draws conclusions and makes recommendations for further research.
