    Abstract
This work is based on the Natural Generative Grammar as posited by Hooper (1976). The theory is used to analyze verbal extensions in Kimbeere and Kiswahili. The first chapter gives a general introduction to the two languages giving their geographical areas and showing how they are classified by schoolers like Guthrie (1948) and Heine and Mohling(1980). In chapter two we have an introduction to the morphophonemics of the two languages. It opens with a general introduction to their phonology, giving the sound changes and stating the phonological rules in distinctive features. In the same chapter we find syllable structure discussed and finally there is a general introduction to the noun class system in both languages. Chapter three of this work contains the analysis of the morphology of verbs in Kiswahili and Kimbeere. It starts with discussing prefixes and then the verbal extensions.A comparison is made between the verbal extensions in both languages. The last chapter is a Summary of our findings and then the conclusions drawn from our study.
