    A Study Of Secondary Technical School Students' And Teachers' Attitudes Toward Technical Education' Programme In Kenya

    Abstract
    The purpose of this study was to investigate answers to these questions: (1) How do basic engineering and basic building trade students compare on a test of Attitude Toward Technical Education? (2) Is there any relationship between (a) educational aspirations scores of basic engineering and basic building students? (b) Students' attitudes toward technical education and their educational aspirations scores? (3) How do male and female technical school teachers compare on a test of Attitude Toward Technical Education? The study also sought to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the technical education programme in Kenya. The two instruments that were used in data collection were the Teachers' Technical Education Attitude Scale, (TTEAS) and the Students' Technical Education Attitude Scale" STEAS. The TTEAS was administered to a sample of 138 teacher& while STEAS was administered to 298 form three technical school students. The sample population of this study was selected using stratified cluster sampling procedures.
