Polarographic determination of heavy metals in foods, beverages and soft-drinks

Abstract

In this analytical work, heavy metals were determined in different kinds of foods, beverages and soft drinks. Cadmium, copper, lead and zinc were detennined in rice,potatoes, carrots, cassava, beans, maize, tomatoes, meat and meat products, miraa, fruit juices, beers, wines, milk, coffee, tea-leaves,pincapple jelly crystals and soft drinks. Tin was only determined in canned fruit juices and "KENYLON" butter beans. All these samples were obtained fram Nairobi Supermarkets and various [anns in Kiambu district.
