    Abstract
The study aims at investigating the Socio-economic and demographic consequences of adolescent fertility in Mombasa district of Coast province. The study looks at the impact of early child birth on the social. economic and demographic status of the adolescent mother and her baby. The factors investigated include age at marriage. parity. infant/child mortality. occupation and level of education of the adolescent mother. Although the study focuses on adolescent girls aged 15-24. it also tries to make comparisons with other older age groups. The study utilises secondary data whose principle information source were women. The data is analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of the study show that adolescent ferti~Lty has social. economic and demographic consequences to the mother and child. The findings of the study therefore calls for an urgent need for an interventionist policy that would save the adolescents who fall victims.
