Estimation of concentration of carbon monoxide hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen from motor vehicles in Nairobi

Abstract

Highway traffic is one of the major source of air pollutants and account for a considerable fraction of the air pollutants discharged into the atmosphere in urban areas Among {he principal transportation related poilu/ants arc carbo" monoxide (CO), reactive and no /- reactive hydrocarbons(HC) and oxides of nitrogen (NO).The aim of the study was 10 assess concentration levels of CO, HC and NOx, which arc emitted from motor vehicle exhaust for the year 1989, in Nairobi.
