dc.description.abstract | 70 adult patients presenting with pleural effusions
at Kenyatta National Hospital, and Infectious Diseases
Hospital, Tuberculosis Unit (KNH,IDH) adult service were
studied and their findings are discussed. The commonest
cause of pleural effusion was tuberculous infection.
Congestive cardiac failure, malignant disease, empyema,
renal disease and liver cirrhosis ,were the other causes.
Few complications were encountered following pleural
biopsy using Abram's needle. | en |
