    Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and human papilloma virus infection: Preliminary study

    Abstract
    Colposcopically directed punch cervical biopsy were taken from 16 women with persistant Pap smear class and subjected Pap to smear class molecular These hybridization specimens were to detect the presence of human papilloma virus Deoxyr ibosenucleic Acid sequences, 12 (75%) were found• to be positive. All the four women with Papanicolaou smear Class IV were found to be positive for human papilloma virus DNA. Whereas 8 (66.7%) of the 12 women with Pap Class III were similarly positive. These findings are in agreement with studies reported from Europe and America.
