    Abstract
The study aims to examine factors that influence the place of delivery among pregnant women in the country. The study used secondary data source from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) Kenya Demographic Surveys (KDHS) 2008 for analysis. In regard to maternal health: antenatal care, Delivery care, place of delivery and maternal mortality data was captured during the survey. On data analysis, bivariate analysis with the Chi-square was used to check the variables (factors that influence) significance. All the variables identified as potentially important were considered for inclusion in the multinomial logistic regression model. To obtain an adequate parsimonious model, backward selection procedure was used. The statistical package used is SPSS version 10. The results implied that almost all explanatory variables used in the study were statistically significant and were included in the parsimonious model to explain effects of various factors all place of maternal delivery in the country. In conclusion. the study showed that the place of delivery in the Kenya is determined by a wide range of factors. The factors that influence place of maternal delivery in Kenya include socio economic, demographic status, cultural and reproductive behaviors. The study further recommended a study to determine the significance of place of delivery on maternal mortality.
