Weibull distribution and its application on wind speed data

Abstract

In this project we discuss several methods of estimation of the parameters of the three-parameter Weibull distribution. It has been found that the Weibull distribution gives the best results in characterising surface wind speed distributions. From the wind speed data obtained from Embakasi near Nairobi, we find that the maximum likelihood method of estimation gives the best results
