The objective of this Project is to develop a design for Kenya National Audit Office
information network to enable quick and secure sharing of audit findings. To achieve
this, a brief introduction of the organization history and mandate has been given. The
literature review of some of the organizations that have implemented the same kind of
information network has also been discussed together with how Ethernet Technology
and Secure Socket Layer are implemented. System analysis has identified the existing
information system, its requirements and weaknesses. System design incorporates the
proposed network design, information system design and the security system design.
A working prototype has been implemented and tested over a Local .Area Network
(LAN). Lastly an implementation plan for the way forward has been proposed
together with suggestions for further study.
The results indicate that a secure information network is a desire for many
organizations in the world bearing in mind that in the IT industry, security is of great
concern.
