The superficial geology and geomorphology of the arid Korr area of Northern Kenya

Abstract

The area covered in this study is situated in northern Kenya arid forms a part of the Kaisut desert, which is-the corridor of low-lying ground between the Quaternary volcanic dome of Marsabit and the Precambrian mountain ranges of the Ndotos. The study area covers an area of about 240 square kilometers, bounded by parallels 1° 56' N and and meridians 370 25' E and 370'36' E. The area can be divided into three district physiographic divisions: the Korr erosional upland of metamorphic rock; an alluvial piedmont zone composed of detritus
