Studies on the biology of· icerya pattersoni (newst.) (hemiptera: margarodidae), a coffee pest in Kenya
Abstract
An account of laboratory and field experiments carried out at
the Coffee Research Station, Ruiru, Kenya to study the biology of
the scale insect, Icerya pattersoni (Newst) (Hemiptera: Margarodidae)
on coffee varieties is given. The insect has recently assumed a
pest status in Kiambu District in Central Province, Kenya. Prior
to 1980 it was not reported as a pest.
