Abstract

The practice and reckoning of history has been tied to individuals who produce ideas.In the case of African philosophy,there seems to be a missing link in that we deal with the ideas in the absence of individuals who espouse them.If the history of African philosophy is to develop and be credible,we must identify the individuals and allow the historical ideas to follow the thought patterns of these individuals and allow the historical ideas to follow the thought patterns of these individuals.Within this history,there is a need for the practitioners of African philosophy to formulate linguistic concepts and categories that capture and express African sociological realities and experiences.
