A comparison of diprivan and thiopentone when used as induction agents for short surgical procedures

Abstract

Anaesthetic properties of Diprivan and thiopentone as intravenous induction agents were compared on patients presenting for short surgical or investigative procedures at the Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya. Each group of the comparative study consisted of 20 cases randomly allocated and similar parameters compared. Diprivan was found to have an overall superiority as an induction agent over thiopentone particularly on recovery characteristics
