Information Needs of Inventory Programmes

Abstract

In this paper the particular perspective is taken of the information needs of an individual scientist challenged with the practical task of conducting a national or local inventory of a prioritized group. This is done by posing a series of questions that such a scientist will find it necessary to address, based on respective personal experiences of the authors in a developed and a developing country.
