Cattle from Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia were found to be affected by skin lesions resembling demodicosis and pox, but which were shown to be caused by Onchocerca ochengi. The lesions are granulomatous in type and are chiefly seen on the scrotum and udder. In heavy infections they spread to other parts of the skin and the damage they cause results in small craters on the inside of the tanned hide. T.E.G.
