dc.description.abstractAn investigation of the incidence of East Coast Fever (ECF), anaplasmosis and babesiosis in cattle was carried out from data obtained from the large animal clinic of the faculty of veterinary medicine, Kabete, covering a period of 8 year (1978-1985).The incidence of clinical cases of these diseases was 8.9 percent, with ECF, anaplasmosis and babeiosis accounting for 70.1 percent 21.8 percent and 8.7 percent of these cases, of these cases, respectively confirmed cases of these diseases represented 6.4 percent of the total bovine cases (16,422) attended by the clinic over this period. ECF, anaplasmosis and babesiosis were confirmed in 75.5 percent 38.2 percent and 41.4 percent of their respective clinical cases - mixed infections of two or more of these diseases in the study area. Difficulties associated with diagnosis of these diseases have been addressed.en
