Land and population movement in Kenya.

Abstract

The main currents of migration in Kenya, together with their regional selectivity by sex are analysed in detail and these movements related to resources and economic development. Selectivity is a major feature of migration; successful rural employment programmes are needed to reverse the exodus particularly of young men, from rural to urban areas. Greater intensification of agriculture, with careful direction of the limited capital available into the development of the most profitable enterprises, is advocated. M. B.
