Calciferol induced hypercalcemia in renal osteodystrophy

Abstract

A boy 3.5 years old with rickets associated with renal tubular acidosis, who was given large doses of vitamin D by mouth for several months, is described. He developed vitamin D excess. The symptoms, signs, management and prevention of vitamin D toxicity are discussed.
